SAMDA is a partnership of the Special Areas Board, MD of Acadia #34, the Town of Oyen, the Village of Empress, and the Village of Cereal, created to foster healthy, viable community growth and economic stability for these communities.
In 2010 SAMDA launched its Return to Rural Initiative, an exciting project aimed at attracting and retaining early and mid-career famillies to the rural remote communities of the Special Areas and MD of Acadia No. 34 region. The return to rural philosophy is built on the idea that by blending technology and community, it is possible to create an environment where anyone can live their dream life in a rural setting. Return to Rural offers exceptional technolgoy and business supports, and are working with government, community and business leaders to develop a youthful vision for the future.
