The Palliser Region has

A youthful, educated population, with nearly 43 percent of the population between the ages of 25 and 54 and nearly 40 percent of the population with a post-secondary education degree or diploma.

A highly skilled labour force in the areas of agriculture, mining, manufacturing construction, transportation, utilities, retail/wholesale, finance, business/community services, and public administration.

Above average employment in the forestry, fishing, mining, oil and gas sector, representing 13.9 percent of total employment in the region versus 7.1 percent for Alberta .

A higher labour force participation and employment rate and a lower unemployment rate compared to the Province as a whole.

A higher annualized percentage rate of growth of newly registered apprentices than the Province as a whole.
