Providing access to education and training opportunities is essential in creating a well-prepared workforce and strong communities. South east Alberta’s schools, college, other education institutions and have a lot to offer newcomers in lifelong learning.

Bassano is part of the Grasslands Regional School Division #6, headquartered in Brooks (Tel: 403-362-2555).

Bassano School is a 400 student K-12 school serving the SchoolTown of Bassano, the surrounding area, and the neighboring Siksika First Nation. As a result, our school has a very multi-cultural feel to it. Our school motto is "Best Efforts Equal Success" and our main school goals are improving reading comprehension and promoting moral intelligence. We have an Alberta Initiative for School Improvement project (Focused Reading Comprehension) running at our school which involves a partnership with the University of Calgary. High School students have access to a welding and mechanics program through the "Innovation Award" winning mobile CTS lab that is provided by Grasslands Public Schools and Alberta Learning.

Sports is an integral part of our school culture - "Go Broncos".

Post Secondary Education

Brooks Campus photoThe Brooks campus of Medicine Hat College is only 50 kms away from Bassano and provides post-secondary technical and business certificate courses, plus 1st and 2nd year university transfer programs.

Bassano is part of the Wild Rose Region.

Prairie Bible Institute offers a wide range of programs, including ministry, aviation, drama, wilderness leadership and music, to students from over 20 countries around the world. Students can earn a one-year certificate or a four-year degree.

Covenant Bible College is an eight-month program of Christian discipleship. The Strathmore campus is one of three campuses, with the other two located in Colorado and Ecuador.

Rosebud School of the Arts offers a unique blend of practical and theoretical training in the performing arts. In addition to the arts program, Rosebud provides apprenticeship programs in the hospitality industry.
