Bassano is located 140Km (80miles) east of Calgary and 160Km (95miles) west of Medicine Hat on the number one Highway.  They are located on the most eastern Edge of the County of Newell #4 and 50 km west of the City of Brooks.

The Town of Bassano was incorporated to Town status in 1911. The deep roots of This Town can be seen in several original buildings still standing in Bassano. 1340 people call Bassano home and major employers are agriculture, oil and gas, manufacturing as well as the retail sector.

In 2006, Bassano had a population of 1,345 living in 554 dwellings, a 1.9% increase from 2001.
