Climate
Sunshine coupled with warm dry summers means more time to spend outdoors and exploring our region. The low altitude of the region produces a very warm climate, with particular areas often matching or surpassing the “hot spot” of Canada. Winters have become very mild over the last few years with average temperatures on the rise.
The longest summers in Alberta are in Bow Island with an average of 2,500 hours of sunlight. Bow Island averages 2,400 (+) in heat units, which are calculated on the basis of temperatures above 10 degrees Celsius in the day time and 5 degrees Celsius at night.
