Providing access to education and training
opportunities is essential in creating a well-prepared workforce
and strong communities. South east Alberta’s schools, college,
other education institutions and have a lot to offer newcomers in
lifelong learning.

The Learning Centre:
An Education, Career and Volunteer resource
centre where FREE public access to computers and the internet is
available to the public. Information may also be obtained regarding
employment, local or distance education opportunities.

Hanna Public Library
The Hanna Library holds a
collection of over 25,000 items as well as having access to over
a million items through participation in the TRAC (Tri-Regional Area
Consortium). The Library offers full service with extended hours
and free Public Access computers. For those who are taking courses
at any level, the Library is an excellent companion to your course
materials.

Korner Playschool are playgroups for preschoolers.
Athabasca University
Don't forget that Athabasca University delivers distance education to students
around the world.
There are no separate or private schools in Hanna.

Post Secondary Education
Post-secondary education is available at Red
Deer Community College, Olds Agricultural
College or Calgary-based institutions.
The Hanna Learning Center offers the Community Adult Learning
Program which provides a wide variety services:
- Career and Employment Centre assists clients in finding and
retaining employment as well as connecting them to learning
opportunities.
- Youth Connections assists clients ages 16-24 in finding and
retaining employment as well as connecting them to learning
opportunities.
- Hanna Literacy and Family Literacy programs provide reading,
writing, math, and English as a Second Language (ESL) services
to the people of Hanna and surrounding areas.
- The Community Adult Learning Program provides non-credit
learning opportunities to adults in our community. These include
workplace safety, computer training, personal development,
custom workshops and more.
- Volunteer Hanna assists volunteer groups and organizations
with their initiatives or projects including grant proposals.
The Learning Centre also offers:
- videoconference through Supernet
- teleconferencing/distance learning
- industrial health and safety training
- computer training
- customized seminars and staff training
- a fully equipped computer lab for instructional use
- conference room and equipment for training and presentations
- fax and photocopying services
- business, career and education resource library

partnership with Entre-Corp Business Development Centre, Medicine
Hat College, Palliser Economic Partnership and Office of Learning
Technologies – Human Resources and Social Development.
