Climate
Sunshine coupled with warm dry summers means more time to spend outdoors and exploring our region. The low altitude of the region produces a very warm climate, with particular areas often matching or surpassing the “hot spot” of Canada. Winters have become very mild over the last few years with average temperatures on the rise.
Special Areas No. 2 climate is considered semi-arid, which means lots of sunshine. The average rainfall for the year ranges from 21.2 mm to 32.5 mm while the number of frost free days is 109. The average temperature in July is between 17.1 and 19.7 degrees Celsius and the average temperature in January is -12.3 to -16.6 degrees Celsius.
