The job market in South
East Alberta is hot! There are lots of great career opportunities
in many different industries from trades to healthcare to manufacturing
and many, many more. There is demand for all levels of positions,
too, from entry-level to senior positions.
The two main employers of Youngstown are Special Areas and Youngstown
Home.
Special Areas is
a rural municipal area which provides municipal services and long
term land resource management. They are responsible for road and
park maintenance, road construction, provision of water services,
public land management, rural stabilization and economic development
and emergency and protective services.
Youngstown Home is a home for
adults with disabilities. The Youngstown Home operates under the
Michener Services.
The home provides recreational, social, residential, spiritual and
medical services to 20-25 individuals with developmental disabilities.
The
following are oil and gas companys that are active in the Youngstown
area: Arc, Bonavista, CNRL, Coastal, Conocophillips, Encana, EOG,
Nuvista, and Player.

and Social Development.
- Canadian Information Centre for Immigrants - A bilingual site that provides a thorough overview of information about credentials, education, qualification, and employment in Canada. It is well organized and easy to navigate.
- Immigration Expert - Directed at immigrant workers, especially those seeking a “skilled workers visa”. Includes step-by-step guide for assessing eligibility, a resource page about living in Canada, and links to major embassies.
- Job Bank Canada - Job Bank is the largest Web-based network of job postings available to Canadians.
