The two main employers of Youngstown are Special Areas and Youngstown Home.

Special Areas is a rural municipal area which provides municipal services and long term land resource management. It is responsible for road and park maintenance, road construction, provision of water services, public land management, rural stabilization and economic development and emergency and protective services.

Youngstown Home is a home for adults with disabilities. The Youngstown Home operates under the Michener Services.  The home provides recreational, social, residential, spiritual and medical services to 15 individuals with developmental disabilities.
